The presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has had his name verified in the voters’ register.
Nana Addo was at the Rock of Ages B Exhibition Centre in the Akyem Abuakwa South Constituency in the Eastern Region, where he votes to check his details in the voters’ roll.
Speaking to the media after he had completed the process Nana Addo encouraged Ghanaian to participate in the exercise as it was a ‘fairly simple’ but important task.
The exhibition exercise which commenced on Monday July 18 and ends on August 7, 2016.
The exercise will enable all voters to check their names in the register, and also help to delete ‘undesirable’ names on the electoral roll.
The exhibition exercise is taking place in 29,000 polling stations across the country. This year’s exhibition is lasting for 21 days instead of the usual 14 days.
According to the Electoral Commission, although patronage of the exercise is low, about one million potential voters verified their names in three days of commencement.
