Ghana’s Athletic Representation to the 27th Olympic Games underwent a comprehensive medical evaluation at Nyaho Medical Centre, prior to their departure for Rio De Janeiro.
This was in fulfilment of a sponsorship commitment valued at Twenty Thousand Ghana Cedis (Ghc20,000) from the premier medical service provider in support of Ghana’s attendance to the games.
The medical evaluation was meant to boost the Team’s confidence and ensure that the Team was in topmost condition to deliver unmatched performance.
Nyaho Medical Centre recommends health screening as one of the best ways to discover medical conditions early and at a treatable stage. While treatable, its team of General Practitioners and forty-plus specialists operating together under one roof, provides a one-stop shop for a diverse range of patient care.
Specialist clinics cover haematology (sickle cell conditions), cardiology, microbiology, nephrology, orthopaedics, neurology, ophthalmology, ENT, vascular, urology, endoscopy, public health, obstetrics, gynaecology, dental care and paediatrics.
Ghana’s Team of Athletes undertook about 13 different tests ranging from physical examinations to full-scale laboratory investigations. These services known as “Well Man” and “Well Woman” clinics provide individually-oriented health screens designed with the client’s age, sex and lifestyle in mind.
Experienced doctors carry out these medical evaluations and thus give clients the opportunity to discuss their health concerns in detail.
