Ghanaians can brace themselves for a partial solar eclipse on Thursday, September 1, 2016.
According to experts the moon will come between the sun and the earth on Thursday but as the two celestial bodies won’t be precisely aligned, it will only cause a partial eclipse.
Ghanaians will be able to view the phenomenon from 6:13am to 9am.
People who want to witness the partial eclipse will have to wear protective glasses as the sun’s UV radiation can burn the retinas of the eyes and cause blindness.
Ghana’s last partial solar eclipse was three years ago on November 3, 2013 however the country experienced a total solar eclipse on March 29, 2006.
