Indeed, the site fence has been installed and topsoil stripping completed for actual construction to start. As to what is holding up to project, NMSI should have a compelling explanation for the brief hold up. It must also be hinted that the construction technology deployed by NMSI is quiet unique and different from our traditional block system.

I urge all, especially the assemblymen and opinion leaders to exercise some patience and talk to the DCE, Ministry of Health and NMSI officials for more information rather than hanging on to such unproductive stories. I must add that, the assertion that President Mahama said the Garu-Tempane hospital in particular has been completed is incorrect. Surely, the Garu-Tempane District hospital shall be completed.

At the moment, one of the six [6] hospitals [Shai Osudoku/Dodowa District Hospital] has been completed and commissioned for the people. Three [3] new district hospitals are under construction at advanced levels of completion at Kumawu, Abetifi and Fomena with the one in Sekondi yet to be started. A seventh hospital, the European Hospital in the Takoradi Metropolitan District, is currently being upgraded and re-equipped.

Each of the 120-Bed District Hospital projects when complete will house Two operating theatres, Theatre recovery unit, Intensive care unit (ICU), Surgical wards (male and female), Medical wards (male and female), Accident and emergency wards, Observation/out-patient ward, Maternity, obstetrics / gynaecology ward, Paediatric ward, Public health unit, Dental unit, Radiology unit, Pharmacy/dispensary, Laboratory, Blood bank, Consulting rooms, Reception/waiting area, Records office, Accommodation for core staff, Conference and training facilities, Kitchen, laundry, Hospital stores, Mortuary, Maintenance unit/workshop, Waste disposal unit amongst others.

Let get informed. Visit this link[http://builttocareghana.com/garu-tempane-district-hospital/] for more information on the above projects.
