There is tight security at the Supreme Court following the mob attack on journalists during the hearing of the Montie FM contempt case last Tuesday.
The journalists were attacked by supporters of the Montie FM panelists who had been summoned to the Supreme Court for allegedly threatening to kill judges over their handling of the suit on the credibility of the voters’ register.
There are over 50 police personnel and some military officers in addition to the court’s security [personnel.
All persons visiting the premises are subjected to security screening where they have to show an ID and their names checked on an accreditation list.
Supporters of Montie FM’s Mugabe and others who attacked journalists at the last hearing, have been cordoned off the court premises. Most them can be seen loitering across the street from the court.
Other persons who have other activities at the Supreme Court have been provided temporary shelter under a tent mounted at the forecourt .
