A group calling itself Evergreen Forum of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), in Tamale, has condemned the reported attack on President John Dramani Mahama’s convoy in the Ashanti Region.
The said incident occurred at Ejisu during the President’s ‘Accounting to the people tour’ of the Ashanti Region.
Though the Ashanti Regional Minister, John Alexander Ackon, has denied the said attack, the Evergreen Forum is unhappy about the development.
[contextly_sidebar id=”MQGKGQcT16kCO2tyFDIqzp9L6hYi1LNL”]The group’s Spokesperson, Mohammed Rashid, in a statement copied Citi News, described the act as barbaric.
He implored the security operatives to intensify their surveillance ahead of the President’s visit to any part of the country especially in the opposition New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) strongholds.
According to Mohammed Rashid, political opponents’ hatred and disrespect towards the President since he assumed office cannot be equated to any other past head of state.
He urged President Mahama to ignore his detractors and continue to deliver his mandate to improve the livelihood of Ghanaians.
He also called on the electorate to renew President Mahama’s mandate on November 7 to enable him accomplish his unfinished agenda.
