President John Dramani Mahama on Thursday took his “Accounting to the People tour” to the Upper West Region.
He promised the people in the region that commercial flights to Wa, the capital of the region will begin by October this year adding that preparatory work for the take-off of the project was almost complete.
President Mahama said the beginning of the commercial flights would provide another string and alternative means of transport to the people.
President Mahama used the opportunity to inspect on-going work on the new 180-bed capacity Wa Regional Hospital.
He also inspected infrastructural projects at the Wa Campus of the University for Development Studies and called on the Wa Naa, Seidu Pelpuo IV.
President Mahama also inaugurated a new Library project at Wa and a new water project in Wellembelle in the Sissala East District.
He will today [Friday] hold a meeting with religious leaders, inspect on-going projects at the new Military Barracks, Nandom District Assembly and the Wa Airstrip.
