The newly elected National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Nominee for the Chiana-Paga Constituency in the Upper East Region, Rudolf Nsowine Amenga-Etego, has pledged to work with the people of the constituency to ensure sustainable development in the area.
Rudolf Nsowine, a lawyer, told Citi News he will prioritize the issue of health for all constituents by working to ensure there are enough health posts in the area to address the needs of the people.
[contextly_sidebar id=”zj24PkAkor5C4JRaAU3o5MCnqEfX7E4M”]The election was a fiercely contested one with Lawyer Nsowine polling some 4,337 votes to beat the incumbent Member of Parliament, Abuga Pele, who polled 4,177 votes.
The third contender, Jonathan Nyaaba, secured a paltry 825 votes.
Mr. Amenga-Etego, who boasted of having years of experience working within the governance system, said he will bring his experience to bear in his work as the MP, should he will the bid.
He told Citi News, “I’ve had governance programs within the same area, I have been somebody from the area, growing up in the area, I also bring on board ideas and ways and means on how we can bring people together to work for our common good”.
He said he will also “bring ideas of reconciliation to get our support base to work together in harmony.”
