The PNC’s Treasurer in a statement added adhering to his advice will prevent party monies from ending up in wrong hands.

Below is the full statement:
CAMPAIGN FUNDS MUST PASS THROUGH RIGHT HANDS
The essence of political party campaigning is to win votes and influence decision.
This can only be achieved through effective strategies and the right expenditures of campaign resources by the right people at the right time. Political campaigning globally is supposed to be geared towards ensuring effective policy positions of political parties for an intended purpose.
As Ghana goes into the 2016 polls, all political parties are warming up to kick start their effective campaigning.
The Peoples National Convention (PNC) has already toured many parts of the country and has received an overwhelming reception from all walks of life- Chiefs, students, farmers, traders etc. This has actually sparked the party’s campaign machinery and strategies ahead of the 2016 polls and as such, we are living no stone unturned.
The party has strong convictions that our chances are brighter as we have emerged stronger, united and formidable after the party’s congress in December 2015 to elect our presidential candidate and other national officers alike. Since after the party’s congress, many activities and programs have been ongoing regarding key ways to improving our chances and to consolidating our position in Ghana’s democratic dispensation in the fourth republic and beyond. This can fully be achieved through effective internal party collaboration, good external relation and the right application of the secured limited campaign resources and logistics by the right persons.
The party’s finance committee made up of a five (5) member team and headed by the national treasurer Mr. Akane Adams, have been able to put together a well structured budget for the entire 2016 campaign which has been approved by the party’s Functional Executive Committee (FEC)/Leadership on the 25th May 2016 to be used to guide the campaign on the right/judicious application of secured funding and logistics both external and internal towards the party’s 2016 campaign.
This is in the right direction to overcome past challenges we might have confronted with regarding the difficulties associated with disbursement of campaign funds especially if the funds finds itself into the wrong hands or in the wrong places.
The upcoming elections are so crucial and critical for us and we cannot play with it. Our chances and opportunities can be maximized if we take upon ourselves the responsibilities of high commitment, dedication and selfless approach towards doing things.
The commitment of all the party national officers is not in doubt as we are resilient, united and focused towards improving our chances ahead of the 2016 polls despite the inadequate campaign resources and logistics.
Indeed, a room was not built in one day just like it takes nine months to bring forth a child, but all depends on the people involved in both cases with the available resources.
The Peoples National Convention – PNC therefore remains focused and positive towards the upcoming 2016 polls and it is with hope and trust that the limited campaign resources and logistics would pass through the appropriate hands and be applied strictly based on the approved budget by the party’s finance committee
