President John Dramani Mahama has commissioned a mending wharf in Tema, to facilitate the work of fishermen in the area.
The move is to create convenience for the fishermen, as one of their challenges has been a good site to mend their nets.
The concrete mending wharf, which was supposed to be ready by April this year, saw some setbacks which delayed its commissioning.
President Mahama however assured that the commissioning of the wharf had come at an opportune time.
Addressing port users today [Thursday], President Mahama assured workers more work will be done at the ports to ensure safety and the smooth running of the ports.
The President also commissioned a cargo handling Jeti Port and four marine crafts acquired by the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority.
