Police in the Brong Ahafo Region have vowed to smoke out the killers of one of its officers on the  Kwame Danso – Atebubu road in the region.

Thirty year old Constable, Frank Adu, is believed to have been shot dead by suspected robbers while  he was escorting  a commercial bus on Tuesday.

The Police including residents, have since blamed the incident on the bad nature of the road.

Speaking to Citi News, the Public Relations Officer of the Brong Ahafo Regional Police Command, ASP Christopher Tawiah, said the Police will leave no stone unturned in their investigations.

He also called on the public to volunteer information to help them arrest the culprits .

“We also need information from their hideouts so that we can locate and arrest them. We know they are living in homes, they are born by people, they are not born by trees and we believe that the public will listen to us and deliver the necessary information to us to enable us arrest them.”

7 suspects arrested

Meanwhile the Brong Ahafo Regional Police Command has served notice that it has arrested seven suspected robbers from Yeji and Kwame Danso.

The seven, Haruna Abdulai, Sekyere Abraham, Akwasi Sunkwa , Ibrahim Hamidu, Hairu Mohammed, Mohammed Awal and Awudu Laar Ahmed, were apprehended  on Wednesday dawn following a tip off.

However, the police say the arrest is not linked to the killing of an officer on Tuesday.
