Accra’s favorite radio station, Citi FM, is giving its audience and music lovers an opportunity to participate in this year’s edition of their reality talent hunt show, the Voice Factory.
The third edition, dubbed ‘The Gospel Edition,’ will have 10 lucky contestants compete weekly, over a period of 12 weeks, for the ultimate prize of GH¢5,000.
Speaking about the event, the Programmes Manager at Citi FM, Jessica Opare Saforo, has explained that this year’s edition of the contest is aimed at discovering people who have a love for the Gospel genre of music, as part of Citi FM’s contribution towards growing the industry.
She said that the station, which is firmly rooted in Christian values, has decided to put a twist on this year’s Voice Factory contest, as opposed to the other editions which were more “free style.”
“A lot of our programmes and content that we have on air, includes music, so the Voice Factory is our way of contributing to discovering talent for the music industry. We are looking for people who wouldn’t mind churning out the gospel genre of music. And there’s no catch! With Citi FM, there are a lot of free things; we love to help people and to help society and this is our small way of helping Ghana’s music.”
Music lovers and potential singers shall have to send a recorded voice note of themselves singing any English Gospel song to 0549986996.
The recorded song must be preceded by the name of the singer and his or her telephone number.
Qualified participants will receive a call from Citi FM and will be invited for an audition slated for Sunday, June 12, 2016, at the forecourt of Citi FM at Adabraka, in Accra.
