The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has shut down its power station at Dzorwulu due to the high levels of flowing rain water.
The company in an alert issued on Thursday June 9, said the move is a precautionary measure.
It said power will be restored to the affected areas later when the flood waters subside.
“ECG has had to shut down Station H at the BSP at Dzorwulu because of high levels of flowing water. This is only a precautionary measure, and power will be restored to the affected areas when the water is drained out.”

Several parts of Accra have been submerged in flood waters following hours of heavy rain on Thursday. The rain, which started around 4:00am, continued till about 1:00pm.
After a break at 1:00pm, it started again with severe storm around 5:00pm for about three hours.
Places like the Kwame Nkrumah Circle, Kaneshie, Adabraka, Awoshie and Tema among others, were some of the worst affected areas.
