In an interview with GNA, Wilson Delali Agyeman, President of the Department of Accounting Students Association said the university authorities have not for made efforts to prevent any disaster.
He said the student body had shown their support to the authorities by embarking on the demonstration to express their concern.
Mr. Agyeman cited recent tragedies that plagued the country such as the June 3 disaster in 2015 at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle, Accra
These sad events were partly due to negligence of some people, institutional failure and unexplainable conditions, he noted.
He called on President John Dramani Mahama, Member of Parliament for the area, the Environmental Protection Agency, the National Petroleum Commission and the Municipal Chief Executive to act as soon as possible on the matter.
