The 2016 Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has expressed shock at the death of the Member of Parliament for the Abetifi Constituency in the Eastern region, Peter Wiafe Pepera.
The MP passed away on Saturday at the 37 Military hospital.
In a post from his twitter handle, Nana Akufo Addo expressed his deepest condolences to the bereaved family and urged them to stay strong.

Unconfirmed reports say he suffered from a cardiac arrest. The 62-year old MP was once a minister in the National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration before joining the NPP in 2001.
He was a Ranking Member on the Trade and Industry Committee in Parliament.
The late MP celebrated his 62nd birthday on May 9.
He becomes the second NPP MP to have died in the Eastern Region, after Joseph Boakye Danquah-Adu, who was stabbed to death at his home in Accra in February.
In October 2015, NDC MP for Amenfi West in the Western Region John Gyetua also died at the 37 Military Hospital in Accra after a protracted illness.
