The Acca Metropolitan Assembly (AMA), has reviewed the closure measures imposed on the Makola Shopping Mall upgrading and expansion project.

The AMA has also directed the consultant of the project, Nii Okai Nunoo, to ensure that all safety measures are put in place by Monday, May 30, for the AMA to consider the re-opening of the project.

Mr Nunoo in an interview with Ghana News Agency assured the public of their commitment to improve safety measures and services.

“For us to abide by our assurance, we have barricaded the whole construction site to prevent people coming closer and obstruction of vehicular traffic.

“Additionally, security has been placed there to ward off traders to the site,” he said.

Mr Nunoo said all necessary arrangement are being taken for compensation to be paid the deceased family by the Enterprise Insurance Company to take care of the late Miss Mensah’s children while the contractors borne the funeral expenses.
