The New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) presidential candidate, Nana Akufo Addo, has extended his gratitude to President Mahama for honouring the late J.B Danquah with a state burial.
“We thank Mahama for giving J.B Danquah a befitting burial . We thank him very much for honouring our brother this way because JB [as he was affectionately called] deserved it,” Nana Addo said.
Addressing mourners at the funeral of the late Joseph Boakye Danquah-Adu on Saturday, Nana Addo described J.B Danquah as a man of dignity and integrity.
The National and regional leadership of the NDC and NPP, were all present to pay their last respects to him.
The former Member of Parliament for Abuakwa North constituency was tragically murdered at his residence at Shiashie on February 9, 2016.
One person arrested in connection with the incident, Daniel Asiedu, is standing trial for murder.
Three-day final funeral rites for the late MP began on Friday, April 15, as his body was laid in state at the Forecourt of the State House.
