Dr. Zanetor Rawlings, the NDC’s Parliamentary Candidate for the Klottey Korle Constituency in the Greater Accra Region, suffered another setback on Tuesday in her attempt to get the court to dismiss a suit challenging her eligibility to contest in the November parliamentary elections.
This is the second time the application has been dismissed.
An Accra High Court presided over by Justice Kwaku Ackaah-Boafo dismissed the application filed by Zanetor’s lawyers, praying the court to throw out the suit filed by incumbent Member of Parliament for the Klottey Korle Constituency, Nii Armah Ashietey.

This would also mean that Zanetor’s lawyers would have to open her defense at all cost for the substantive case to start.
Mr. Ashietey and Nii John Coleman, who both contested Zanetor asked the court to, prevent Dr. Rawlings from holding herself out as Parliamentary Candidate-elect because according to them, she’s not a registered voter.
The Electoral Commission has since confirmed that Dr. Zanetor Rawlings is indeed not a registered voter.
But lawyers for Dr. Zanetor argued that the entire action brought before the court is premature and prayed the court to dismiss the suit.
Justice Ackaah-Boafo in his ruling on Tuesday, dismissed the application saying it lacked merit and was a waste of the court’s time.
