Fire on Thursday night destroyed the popular Vienna City Night Club at Circle. The fire which started around 8:00pm, ravaged the entire plush entertainment center according to Citi News’ Kojo Agyeman.
Kojo reported that the roofs of the building caved in as fire fighters struggled to put out the fire.
It is unclear what started the fire, but workers of the facility were said to be preparing the area for the night’s activity when the fire started.
However there is no casualty as yet as the workers run to safety.
The Vienna City Night Club is close to a shell fuel station where a storey-building housing Cal Bank is also situated.
Also on the other side of it, is the Barclays Bank Branch at Circle.
The club is also few meters away from the Goil Fuel Station at Circle, where over 100 people were killed on June 3 2015, in a fire and flood disaster.
Kojo Agyeman says about five fire tenders struggled to douse the fire because of the combustible nature of materials in the building.
An eyewitness who gave his name Godfather told Citi News the fire was started by an electrical fault from a wire in one of the speakers at the Night Club.
The fire outbreak according to Kojo, has also affected the flow of traffic on the major Kwame Nkrumah interchange.
He says hundreds of people have gathered around the area to observe the situation.
Kojo says the Shell Fuel station is also taking some precautionary measures to ensure the fire does not spread to the area to cause a possible explosion.
Vienna City Night Club has branches in Kumasi and Takoradi.
