Ghana has played a seminal part of my life since I was 16 and first came to live with a Ghanaian family in Sunyani back in the Lost Decades – 1978.
I thereafter founded The Omanhene Cocoa Bean Company, the first company to sustain exports of fine quality chocolate made entirely in Ghana.
Our primary markets include the United States, Canada and Japan. For 25 years, we’ve demonstrated that Ghana can compete at the highest level in the brutally competitive upscale food and beverage industry.
Why you should listen
Since the 19th century cocoa has played an out-sized role in the economic, political and cultural life of the country. Yet, Ghana remains largely on the bottom rung of the cocoa value chain, as it similarly does in the case of most of its extractive industries. I conduct a value chain analysis using my Omanhene experience as an archetype for creating meaningful employment and transformational wealth and economic impact for Ghana.
Quote from Steven Charles Wallace
“You have to be very good at a lot of things, excellent at a few, and you can’t screw up much.”
