It has emerged that Head of the private security detail for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Flagbearer, Nana Akuffo Addo, Captain (rtd) Edmund Koda, was re-arrested on Thursday by the Bureau of National Investigation (BNI), for his alleged role in the invitation of three ex-police officers from South Africa to train the party’s security personnel.
Captain Koda is alleged to have invited the three South Africans who are on trial but are currently in the custody of the BNI for training private security personnel of the NPP Presidential Candidate and his running mate.

Security operatives allegedly visited Captain Koda’s residence at Weija in Accra last week, to carry out a search.
The state subsequently dropped the charges against him on Thursday. It is thus unclear why he was re-arrested after his release.
Capt. Koda’s Lawyer, Nana Asante Bediatuo, told Citi News his client was re-arrested by the BNI for another round of questioning on the same Thursday the charges against him were dropped.
