The National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for Effutu, Eric Don-Arthur has assisted 75 women in the area to access loans from the Microfinance and Small Loans Centre (MASLOC) to the tune of GHc26,130.
The parliamentary candidate explained that the move is to empower the women to take charge of their economic lives.
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of MASLOC, Mrs. Sedinam Tamakloe in her address charged the women to work hard to repay the loan and also cultivate the habit of saving.
The women who work as petty traders, fish mongers, among others took home GHc500.
Eric Don Arthur also added that this is the initiative to transform the lives of his constituents.
On their part the traders expressed gratitude to the NDC parliamentary candidate and MASLOC for the gesture.
