The activities of middlemen, popularly referred to as ‘goro boys’, at the Lands Commission, are under threat following the creation of a new clients and access unit by the commission.
The unit, which was created in November 2015 according to the Commission, will create a one-stop-shop for all land related information and services.

But according to the Executive Secretary of the Lands Commission, Dr. Wilfred K. Anim Odame, the new unit will make the activities of the ‘goro boys’ less lucrative since it will fast track clients’ complaints and also facilitate land documentation within two weeks.
Speaking on the Citi Breakfast Show on Monday, Dr. Odame said “the one stop service is a platform for all Ghanaians and non-Ghanaians who want to perform a land service in this country to access. You go there and you are able to access all the services of the Lands Commission.”
He said the unit, which is located in their new edifice, is “magnificent even to the extent that we have on-sight banking where your bill will be generated and you just go to the cashier and pay and walk away with a receipt.”
