Daniel Asiedu, the suspect who allegedly murdered the Member of Parliament for the Abuakwa North Constituency has complained to a magistrate court about the ill-treatment he receives at the BNI cell.
[contextly_sidebar id=”bOLx0c7riBumrzijahIA46e38gtSEAuD”] Asiedu claims he has been confined in a Box-like cell and is only allowed to come out when he wants to use the washroom or take his bath.
He also alleged that the security officers do not allow him to engage other inmates and has complained several times without any positive response.
The suspect made this known when he appeared in court on Tuesday.
Responding to the issues raised by the suspect, prosecution told the court they were hearing the matter for the first time and would want to investigate it and take appropriate steps to correct it.
Asiedu was arrested few days after the MP for Abuakwa North, Joseph Boakye Danquah was stabbed to death at his home at Shiashie in Accra.
The suspect is alleged to have confessed to stabbing the late MP.
Meanwhile the judge has asked the Police to ensure the suspect is not kept in solitary confinement and that his rights should be protected.
