The battle line is drawn between President John Mahama and the Flagbearer of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akufo-Addo, possibly for an unplanned debate, going into the November elections.
This follows a challenge thrown at Nana Addo by President Mahama to a live debate.
[contextly_sidebar id=”qzxKHBszGcNTtba2sWftEPfjiywFWWor”]President Mahama during an interview on TV3 on Monday, dared Nana Addo to debate him saying the NPP flagbearer has made some contentious statements hence his resolve to take him on and face him squarely.
“I’m willing to debate Nana Akufo-Addo any day even if you call him today, I will put it here and start debating the issues. So I don’t have a problem with debating Nana Addo. He [Nana Addo] has made a lot of contentious statements that I would have wished that you had him hear so that we would debate those issues,” he added.
Nana Addo in announcing his acceptance of the challenge on Twitter, said he will debate President Mahama if it will solve Ghana’s problems.
“Will President Mahama debating me solve Ghana’s problems? If so, then I am ready to debate him anytime, anywhere and anyday,” Nana Addo stated.
