Vitting Senior High, Ghana Senior High and the Northern School of Business, have been temporarily closed down until further notice.
An eleven member standing committee investigating clashes between some students of Ghana Senior High and Vitting Senior High is yet to submit its report.
Frustrated Northern Regional Director of the Ghana Education Service, Alhaji Mohammed Haroun Cambodia in a Citi News interview said he will be compelled to close down all Senior High Schools in the region if students continue to flout school regulations.
“Our objective is to help them to learn and if they don’t want to learn is better they go and stay in their homes and I will not be a sad man if it is in line with discipline.”
Alhaji Mohammed Haroun Cambodia decried the falling standards in education in the region and attributed it to students’ indiscipline.
“We expect good results. You can see how poorly our senior high schools are performing. You imagine taking the league table of WASSCE; you cannot get the first northern schools among the first forty.”
