Organizers of the Music of Ghanaian Origin Festival (MOGO), Citi FM, has released the official list of nominees for the station’s 2016 MOGO Awards scheduled for Saturday, March 5.
Gasmilla, Sarkodie, Obrafour are among the nominees with ‘Brother Brother’ and ‘Mansa’ hitmaker, Bisa K’dei, leading with seven nominations.
The year is indeed a good one for Bisa Kdei, who also got five nominations in the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) nominations, scheduled to take place in May this year.

The 3 Nights show commenced with ace highlife artiste Ebow Taylor, who handed over the baton to Bob Pinodo on Tuesday.
The last of the three nights show ends today [Wednesday] with the ever-energetic highlife musician K.K. Kabobo at the +233 Jazz Bar and Grill.
Award Categories
Awards to be presented on the night include the MOGO Artiste of the Year, MOGO Song of the Year, MOGO Best Song Writer, MOGO Best Performer, MOGO Best Band/Group, MOGO Best producer and MOGO Best Collaboration.
The rest are MOGO Best Male Act, MOGO Best Female Acts, MOGO Album of the Year and the coveted and revered MOGO Lifetime Achievement Awards.
In all, ten (10) outstanding awardees would receive the deserved recognition for a good job done.
Some outstanding legends, whose contributions to the Ghanaian music industry have brought great gains and respect to the industry, would also be honored with the lifetime achievement awards.

A night interspersed with great highlife music
Legendary Highlife musician, Amakye Dede, is expected to set the Alisa Hotel Ridge Arena on fire on Saturday March 5, when he takes his turn at the MOGO Awards.
The MOGO Awards climaxes the week-long festival. Amakye Dede is expected to give his best performance yet, after the recent fatal accident that killed his manager.
The ‘Iron Boy’ and his band would treat the audience to his collection of timeless hit songs on a night when musicians who have excelled in the past year would be honored.
Other great musicians to perform on the night include Bessa Simons, Ebo Taylor and Bob Pinodo.
