The Upper East Regional branch of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), has inaugurated a 24-man campaign team for the 2016 general election.

Their mandate is to ensure that the party’s presidential candidate, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, wins massively to become President and also win more parliamentary seats for the party in the region.

[contextly_sidebar id=”AUJUfPv0wV7bFxGEOFKLmR17ZF6LzUuR”]The 24-member campaign team is made up of 10 appointees, 14 regional executives and supported by all constituency executives with the Regional Chairman, Mutala Ibrahim Mohammed being the Regional Campaign Manager.

The team was inaugurated by acting General secretary and National Organizer of the NPP,  John Boadu, Deputy National organizer, Nuhu Bayorbo, and Former Vice Chairman of the party, Stephen Ntim.

Speaking to Citi News after the inauguration, the Upper East Regional Youth Organizer, Ibrahim Bashiru, noted that the new campaign team is faced with the herculean task of ensuring a victorious election 2016 for the NPP.

He stated that the party’s regional executives have carefully profiled all the 15 constituencies in the region and  have identified, diagnosed and evaluated reasons for which the party could not garner more votes in the previous poll.

He said they will thus work collaboratively to win more parliamentary seats and ensure that Nana Addo wins massively in the region.

“We have done our constituency profiling, we have done a very good research and we have identified perhaps some of the pertinent reasons why we have not been doing so well in the region. But having identified those reasons and with the synergy of the campaign team inaugurated, we will champion Nana Addo’s vision and policY initiatives of salvaging Ghanaians from this current hardship and mismanagement of Ghana to prosperity, by ensuring his victory in the 2016 general elections,” Mr. Bashiru stated.

Mr. Bashiru hinted that, the NPP youth wing in the region will in March declare agenda 50:50 for the party in the region that will see the youth wing roll out programmes for victory.

Regional Chairman and Campaign Manager, Mutala  Ibrahim Mohammed, said Ghanaians can no longer endure the mismanagement, hardships and high level corruption under the Mahama-NDC led administration.

He added that, the campaign team with the available logistics, will work hard to ensure that Nana Addo wins the general elections to become President of Ghana and also increase their parliamentary seats in the region by at least eight.
