The Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) on Monday took delivery of medical equipment and consumables valued at about US$100,000 to enhance the quality of care.
These included hospital beds, incubators, mattresses, syringes, bandages, tables, blankets and bed sheets.
They were a gift from the Asanteman Association of Carolinas in the United States of America (USA).
[contextly_sidebar id=”KKnRGON9r4OP1xQJSYgMqSAqGLxBdIEW”]Ms. Doris Gyamfi, an Executive Member of the Association, who presented the items said it was their contribution towards improving the quality of medical care received by patients.
She pledged further assistance saying they would continue to provide the referral facility with some of its needs.
Dr. Joseph Akpaloo, Chief Executive Officer of the Hospital, said they were grateful for the gesture, adding that, the items could not have come at a better time.
He pointed out that the facility’s quest to become a centre of excellence in quality health care delivery, demanded the support of everybody – individuals, groups and organizations.
Dr. Akpaloo said it needed more assistance by way of the supply of equipment, drugs and consumables improve its services.
