Ghana’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Alhaji Said Sinare, has charged the youth living in Zongo communities across the country to be law abiding and decorous in their conduct.
Alhaji Sinare’s advice comes on the back of the recent clashes between Muslim and non-Muslims in Tafo in the Ashanti Region, leading to the death of one person.
He asked the youth particularly to avoid being used to foment trouble this election year.
“This is an election year and whether they like it or not, other groups will come to them to entice them with money to cause trouble, they should not do it, they simply should not do it, it’s a very bad thing.”
“They should abide by the rules and the laws of the country because, no one is above the law. I want to tell my Zongo brothers and sisters to be careful especially in this election year.”
Alhaji Said Sinare was speaking at the launch of the Zongo for NDC group in the Ablekuma Central Constituency.
The Zongo for NDC group, Alhaji Sinare explained is to help consolidate the NDC’s votes in the November Presidential and Parliamentary elections.
“We are targeting between 95% and 97% of the votes in the Zongos for the NDC in the upcoming election, Alhaji Sinare added.
