The MP was killed at at dawn at his residence at Shiashi where he lived with his family. The private security guard, according to Citi News sources says he did not hear about the struggle before the MP’s death in his room.
The police say they cannot immediately confirm whether the killing was carried out by robbers or that the attackers were there just to kill him.
Although the police are yet to give any details on the matter, some neighbors who spoke to Citi News’ Fred Djabanor say no items were stolen from the house.
The Greater Accra Regional Police Commander, COP George Dampare, together with a team of police officers and investigators, have been to the scene to pick the necessary leads in their investigations.
Several bigwigs of the NPP, including acting Chairman Freddie Blay, have visited the house to get first hand information and also to commiserate with the bereaved family.
Neighbors claims
In an interaction with some neighbors of the late MP, they told Fred Djabanor that they heard about the struggling between the MP and his attackers, which forced them out of their homes only to find out that he had been killed.
They claimed to have seen a ladder behind the late MP’s bedroom, which they suspect was used by the assailants. According to them, they saw a man run out of the house but he could not use the main entrance because they had by then called in the police who were stationed at the gate waiting to enter.

The assailants attacked him at a house at East Legon, believed to be his then girlfriend’s house. In February 2013, three persons who were prosecuted for allegedly causing harm to the late MP in that attack, were convicted with fines.
