About four people sustained injuries on Saturday when an uncompleted building they were working on near the Kotoka International Airport in Accra collapsed.
The building, situated near the Holiday Inn and Marina Mall, reportedly caved in.
Confirming the incident to Citi News, the Airport Police Commander, Chief Superintendent Yao Tettegah, indicated that work on the building has been put on hold pending an investigation into the collapse.

He also noted that some engineering errors may have caused the accident saying, “I think there is a failure somewhere that has caused the incident.”
Ghana has in recent times recorded deaths and injuries from collapsed buildings.
In most cases, such occurrences have been blamed on city authorities whose building inspectors fail to do their work effectively.
Sadly, such officers are not brought to book when such mishaps occur.
