Ghana’s Abdul Majeed Waris put away a first half penalty to help Lorient beat FC Tours 3-2 in the French Cup’s Round of 32 match played on Sunday.
The forward scored the spot kick after 26 minutes following a foul on Yann Jouffre but Lorient needed to be tough as Tours found equalisers at different times of the match through Ibrahima Tandia and Haris Belkebla.
Benjamin Jeannot popped up in the 98th minute to score what proved to be the deciding goal in the match for Lorient.
