One of Ghana’s unique Gospel musicians, Kofi Owusu Dua Anto, otherwise known as KODA, has released yet another track seeking to criticize the monetization of the church.
KODA was hugely credited for a similar song, ‘Nsem Pii’, which sought to draw attention of the church to what appears to be a drift from the real Christianity.
KODA in his new track titled ‘Adosoo’ which roughly translates as ‘too much’ or widespread, talks about the phenomenon where some persons claiming to be pastors extort monies from desperate but sometimes ‘ignorant’ Christians, to pray for them.
The new song, a churchy rendition of the late Highlife artiste, Dr. Paa Bobo’s original composition, has already been received particularly by viewers of the video on YouTube.
The video, which was loaded on YouTube on January 16, 2016 before the song’s official release on January 17, already has nearly 4,000 views as at the evening of Monday January 17.
Viewers of the video were wowed by the composition and content of the track.
Some of the comments on YouTube read, “God bless you KODA! As children of God we must think about this issue. Most churches must be careful of what we do in this end time.”
Another viewer, Sterlington Horsoo Jnr. said “God bless you Kofi. The message is clear and straight to the point.
Raphael Adu-Gyamfi said “Great song Koda. GOD BLESS YOU.
Emmanuel Aidoo said “na this be punch line ooo. adoso ampa”
Other comments read “can’t just stop laughing…….nice tune Uncle Kofi.GOD BLESS YOU, “KODA….. YOU ARE TOO MUCH”, “Yewura…this one I tell you ‘wicked’ …nice one” “Hmmm. Seriously most churches have their share in the song. God bless Koda. Speak against the truth and u will be judged one day”, “Koda, this is exquisite, bomb blasting, undisputed, something to think about and to be stopped one time…. this is eye opener to all God’s children.. beware”, “Wow.. This is a Master piece. Straight to the point. Blessings to you KODA”
About KODA
KODA, is fully trained to be a pastor but focuses more on music, and does not hold himself as a pastor.
He’s multi-talented working as a sound engineer. As a multipurpose individual with a unique talent, KODA is an organist, guitarist and drummer amongst others; and is virtually able to handle every musical instrument.
The onetime Director of the Mass Choir at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has stood out distinctly with amazing tracks such as songs Guide me o Jehova, Nkwa Abodoo with Gospel Musician Nacee amongst others.
KODA, who was criticized by some churches for his track Nsem Pii, has said he will never retreat because he feels he is doing what God expects of him.
The Takoradi-based musician told gospelgh.com that he expected some condemnation because of the critical issues addressed in the song.
KODA owns the record label, ELKSMUSIK and leads a Band known as the Koded Studios and The Anointed in Takoradi. The band’s interests are soul winning, live ministration, music production and recording.
KODA, an addicted worshipper once said “Koda once said, “How amazing it is to always be in that moment where all you have in you just pours itself out in the form of good music, harmonious and splendid in reverence to your creator. Such is the moment I always am and continually want to be… for God is my refuge.”
His career for music started at age 10, when his mum, who spotted his love for music, got him enrolled in a music class specifically to learn how to play the guitar.
