The chiefs and elders of Gomoa Jukwa, near Agona Swedru, have given one-week ultimatum to residents both at home and outside to pay their development levies which is GH¢ 15 or face sanctions.
According to the chiefs, after the period, defaulters would be summoned to the palace and made to pay three times the mount in additions to bottles of schnapps.

He stated that many residents have refused to pay the levies imposed on them for development projects in the town.
Obaatan Aggrey hinted that the money would be used to complete the modern facility, provision of street lights and the paving of the floor of the community centre.
He said the area cannot wait for the government and the Member of Parliament for assistance for development projects.
Naana Eyiah Quansah, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary candidate for Gomoa Central donated 20 bags of cement to support ongoing projects.
He appealed to the people to vote massively for her and Nana Akufo Addo in the November polls.
She said an NPP government would ensure that social amenities are provided to the area.
