Organized Labour is set to embark on its planned nationwide demonstration over increased prices of utility later this morning.
The decision has become necessary following what the labour union says is the inability of government to respond to its demands.

The demands also involve the scrapping off of the newly introduced energy sector levies- a decision government has since rejected.
Today’s demonstration will be followed by a nationwide strike action by all labour unions on Friday.
A labour consultant, Austin Gammey, who has been speaking to Citi Business News on the latest developments, has warned of consequential effects including massive job losses.
According to him, these effects are expected to be extended to the next two to three years.
“It’s a bit problematic because once work stops, productivity ceases, income stops and the consequences are obvious…It will have drastic effects on both the private and public sector, it will affect everybody including those engaging in the demonstration themselves. Some people may even lose their jobs not just today but later, because the after effect is that income has fallen therefore if there is a shortfall, somebody must suffer,” Mr. Gammey stated.
