Poor visibility this Harmattan, hasn’t affected only air transport, but commercial vehicle drivers who ply long distance journeys as well.
In an interview with Citi News some drivers at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle office of the VIP transport company explained the difficulties, especially along the Accra-Kumasi route:
The transport manager of the company, Eric Botchwey, confirmed that driving especially in the dark, was indeed very dangerous.
He also disclosed that the drivers have been assigned a road safety expert who trains them on Thursdays and Fridays on managing the poor visibility during their journeys.
Mr. Botchwey said however that the weather conditions hasn’t affected ticket sales – patronage is going on normally.
