The Accra Regional Police Command has commended Citi FM for cooperating with its inquiry into musician Wisa’s indecent act last Thursday.
Wisa, real name Eugene Ashie, was one of many artists billed to perform at Citi FM’s Decemba to Rememba concert and, to the surprise of everyone exposed his manhood while on stage.
The Police have since invited Wisa to assist with investigations.
Speaking to Citi News, the Regional Police Commander, COP Dr Akuffo Dampare, expressed satisfaction at the level of cooperation offered by Citi FM.
“Evidence was brought to our attention, we engaged Citi FM which happens to be the organisers of the event and they readily decided to collaborate with the Police to ensure that the matter is investigated to its logical conclusion. It is on this occasion that I would like to on behalf of the region command to commend Citi FM for trying to investigate this matter.”
The managers of Omni Media Limited, owners of Accra-based Citi 97.3 FM have already condemned the act of indecent exposure exhibited by Wisa at the D2R concert.
Social media platforms have been awash with videos of Wisa stripping during a live performance at the Accra International Conference Centre, and rubbing his manhood behind his female dancer on stage.
In the statement signed by the Programmes Manager of Citi FM, Jessica Opare Saforo, described the act as “unimaginable and despicable.”
