Ghana Gas resides under the Minister of Petroleum. Not to pay an insurance fee or do proper maintenance because of lack of funding while millions are spend elsewhere is a dereliction of duty and the consequences should be the sack. In this case he can’t hide behind Donkor as he’s the man responsible to deliver the gas to Donkor’s power sector. And he, Donkor, should be held to account for the Ameri saga. What a mess: no power, dodgy deals, non-payment of gas supply invoices from Nigeria, no money to pay an insurance bill or plant maintenance, an oil refinery that’s a basket case and a Government that owes the bulk distribution companies hundreds of millions of dollars, crippling the downstream industry and puts the local banks in jeopardy.
As long as corruption can’t be proven then at least one thing can: complete and utter ineptness of the Government to deal with key parts of the nation’s infrastructure and prosperity. The Government is very lucky that the Ghanaians are such decent people, anywhere else this would lead to riots and violence. Shame on you politicians of all parties.
