The National Democratic Congress (NDC) will hold an emergency National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting today [Monday] to discuss the party’s upcoming parliamentary primaries.

[contextly_sidebar id=”nu01wbwPubPblX9ahjuCmlYUSRCNrkJJ”]Today’s meeting will among other things determine whether to maintain the November 7th date or change it to allow the party deal with issues emanating from some constituencies.

Speaking to Citi News a Deputy General Secretary of the NDC, Koku Anyidoho indicated that the party is prepared to consider all options at stake and arrive at a firm decision by close of day today.

“We actually have an emergency NEC meeting to discuss issues relating to the primaries. Yes we are still working with the 7 November date but this meeting is intended to look at certain issues concerning the 7 November so I am sure a decision will be taken as to whether it will be 7 November or it will be postponed.Whatever decision that we will take, we shall communicate. ”

Aside the contests across the 275 constituencies nationwide, the primaries will also seek to endorse John Dramani Mahama as the party’s 2016 flagbearer.
