Weeks after his appointment as acting Inspector General of Police (IGP), John Kudalor has made sweeping changes to the service’s top hierarchy.
The changes, meant to herald a new era for the Police Service were revealed in a statement issued on Friday and will take effect from December 1.
[contextly_sidebar id=”PMcU5F8pdQgqOMRmopsOnALNn2R2D3Qi”]According to the statement, Chief of Police (COP) Rose Bio Atinga, who was the Director-General/ Administration takes over as the new Director General , Research and Planning at the National Police Headquarters.
Other notable changes include COP Prosper Kwame Agblor who is now the Director General of the CID National headquarters and DCOP Awuni who takes over as the Eastern Regional Police Commander after previously heading the Motor Traffic Department.
DCOP Ransford Ninson who was the Central Regional Police Commander is now the Director General of Medics at the Police headquarters in Accra with DCOP Yaagy Akuribah now heading the regional command.
Unlike the Central Regional command however, the leadership of the Ashanti, Brong Ahafo, Northern, Volta, Western, Upper East and Upper West police commands remain unchanged.
COP David Asante Apeatu the former Director General Research now heads the General ICT department of the police headquarters in Accra.
The Director General Public Affairs, DCOP Nenyi Ampah Benin takes charge of the the Police Investigations and Professional Standards Bureau (PIPS)
However, Cephas Arthur reprises his position as Director of Public Relations of the service
