Nana Oye Lithur, Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, has called for collaborative efforts between Government, Cooperate Institutions and individuals to eliminate factors that hinder the development of Children across the country.
She said it is important to educate children in the area of environmental sanitation.
This she said will help sustain and manage our environment since the kids will inculcate the values learnt into their peers who are future generation.
Nana Oye Lithur made the observation at the launch of Zoomlion Foundation by the Zoomlion and Jospong Group of Companies in Accra last Friday.
She stated that “as the minister for children, the welfare of kids is of much paramount to me, and we must therefore work hard to eradicate factors that hinders the development of child. We must therefore support Zoomlion’s Foundation with its basic and primary focus of creating Zoom Kids to provide support for activities for children in the area of sanitation.”
Nana Oye added that “this is an excellent way of sustaining and managing our environment because our children will teach our future generation and younger siblings as they grow. But very importantly you as children will inculcate the values and habits of keeping good sanitation practices.”
For her part, the National Coordinator of Zoomlion Foundation, Mrs. Sarah Kyei called on all stakeholders in the health sector, collaborators and development partners in the areas of WASH, to collaborate with Zoomlion Foundation to achieve the goals of providing supports for environmental sanitation management, educational support and healthcare care support.
