What? The first Microsoft tablet PC was unveiled in 2002. The first Note was unveiled in 2011, and would pale in comparison in “productivity” to even those older machines. Heck, even the iPad was released before the Note series.

Did Microsoft pioneer the productivity-focused tablet idea? I am pretty sure it was pioneered by Samsung with the Galaxy Note Phablet and later Microsoft asked Samsung to help them develop the Surface and both released their productivity-focused tablets at around the same time. The partnership between Samsung, Microsoft and Google is a wonder to behold.
