An aspiring Member of Parliament for Ablekuma South and Chief Executive of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA), Alfred Oko Vanderpuije has assured the people of Ablekuma South of employment and skills development should they vote him as the NDC Parliamentary Candidate.
According to him, he will use his influence in the NDC, to drive what he calls the development agenda.
Mr. Vanderpuije, who has been the mayor of Accra for the past six years, was cleared to contest the Ablekuma South parliamentary seat in the primaries scheduled for November 7.
Addressing party supporters at the launch of his campaign, in Accra on Sunday, Alfred Oko Vanderpuije said he is the best bet for the people Ablekuma South because of his track record.
He stated, “from ending the shift system to building the Millennium City Schools, from constructing the drains, from constructing the sewage lines. The list can o on and on, what we have done far exceeds what the NPP did in their eight years. They had the opportunity to do it all but they did not do it. We have come and we are building and we are constructing and we are working hard. Ghanaians are witnesses to the hard work because it bearing fruits.”
Alfred Oko Vanderpuije added that his priority is to tackle unemployment and equip the youth through a skills development program.
The mayor added, “job creation is what we are looking at, skills development for the youth and people of Ablekuma South. Engaging them in this will create a necessary platform for employment opportunities. We will also create mentorship programs for the youth of Ablekuma South.
