MASLOC disburses loans to business women in Northern Region

The Micro Finance and Small Loans Centre (MASLOC) is disbursing flexible loans to some selected women groups in the Northern Region.

The Northern Area Manager, Alhaji Mohammed Amin told Citi News a total of GHC693, 540.00 will be disbursed to 47 women groups.

He said each group comprised 25 members and every individual will receive between GHc300.00 and GHc1, 000.00.

They are expected to repay the loans within six months for onward disbursement to others.

Alhaji Mohammed Amin revealed that the first phase will cover beneficiaries in Tamale North, Tamale South, Tamale Central, Sagnarigu, Nantong, Bimbila and Sawla.

The MASLOC’s Chief Executive Officer, Mrs. Sedina Tamakloe Attionu said government was poised to empower more women to expand their businesses.

“Women are the mainstay of our society: they contribute immensely to the development of the country and therefore government is well poised to support women in their endeavors.”

“His Excellency John Dramani Mahama has beefed up MASLOC to ensure that we can take up the role in helping in women’s development particularly in the areas of micro and small enterprise,” she said.

Mrs. Sedina Attionu entreated the beneficiaries to utilize the loans and repay within the scheduled period.
