President John Dramani Mahama has sent hearty congratulations to his brother, President Allasane Dramane Ouattara of Cote D’Ivoire on his re-election victory.

President John Mahama in a statement added that the strong bond of solidarity and economic cooperation we continue to enjoy as two neighbouring countries is linked to the peace and stability of the sub-region. My congratulations also goes to the people of Cote D’Ivoire for a successful election. I will continue to work closely with President Ouatarra.”
President, Alassane Ouattara won a second five-year term with nearly 84% of the vote.
Mr. Ouattara won a total of 2,118,229 votes giving him 83.66% lead over his other contenders.
Mr. Ouattara need more than 50% of the vote to avoid a run-off.
His closest opposition rival, Pascal Affi N’Guessan, got a paltry 9%.
