The Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Mohammed Alhassan, has announced plans by the police administration to convert the Ghana Police Command and Staff College into a University.
Mohammed Alhassan says talks are currently on-going with the National Accreditation Authority.
Speaking at a passing out ceremony for some senior Police Officers in Accra, the IGP said the University will serve the purpose of modern policing.
“It is our vision that sooner than later; this college will together with all our training institutions; get the required accreditation from the Accreditation Board so that it becomes the Ghana Police University College. The University will focus on excellence in enforcement training not only in Ghana but the whole of the sub-region. And with the can-do attitude that we’ve all pledge ourselves to, this will happen very soon” he noted.
