The Police have secured an injunction to prevent pro-opposition pressure group, Let My Vote Count Alliance from picketing at the precincts of the Electoral Commission (EC).
The Police headed to the court for the second time to seek a fresh injunction on the planned demonstration at the EC after an earlier injunction they had secured expired.
According the court, the exparte injunction secured by the Police had elapsed its 10-day lawful existence, hence the green light for organizers of the demonstration to go ahead with their protest march.
The court’s ruling thus nullifies what appeared like a clearance for the group to demonstrate.
Per the ruling, the demonstrators will not be allowed to picket at the EC on Tuesday September 29.
The court in its ruling also restricted the group from embarking on any demonstration until October.
