An aspiring Member of Parliament for the Tema West constituency, Bill Hedo-Boglo says he is confident of winning the seat on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) despite a keen competition from the NPP.

The constituency has for some years now been a strong hold of the NPP.

In 1996, a former Member of Parliament for the area, Abraham Osei Adu won the seat on the ticket of the NPP.

[contextly_sidebar id=”G3YbJwKQMwwj2cwlmPz00MMVoQlDaSeL”]He retained the seat in 2000 and 2004 until Naa Torshie, another NPP Member of Parliament took over in 2008 and 2012.

Despite this trend, Mr. Hedo-Boglo is however still confident of victory.

Speaking on the Point Blank segment of Eyewitness News, Mr. Hedo-Boglo said he has the capacity to be Member of Parliament for the area.

“Let me assure you that if the NDC in the Tema West constituency give me the nod to be their candidate, they should be rest assured that in 2016 they will not only be representing a candidate but a parliamentarian for 2016.”

“I think I am more than capable of occupying the seat. I was involved in student politics from basic school. I think I have demonstrated that I do have the capacity to advocate for a lot of things for the constituency. I belong to a strong group which is known us the diplomatic platform and we use that get support for people.” Mr. Hedo-Boglo added.

He also revealed plans of addressing some challenges facing the residents.
