Ghanaian actor John Dumelo says he could only watch the three-hour documentary by investigative Journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas, which exposed widespread corruption in the judiciary for an hour.

Dumelo, like many Ghanaians, left the Accra International Conference Center stunned and sad on Wednesday after watching the much-talked about piece put together by Anas and his private investigation company, Tigereyepi.

Hundreds gathered at the conference centre for the video premiering.

[contextly_sidebar id=”sFvVH7aKSZ8Si2b1ib7DPScbeNwVc7bW”]The film, titled ‘Ghana In the Eyes of God: Epic of Injustice’, saw thousands of Ghanaians from all walks of life including ministers of state, judges, lawyers, diplomats, musicians, actors and actresses among others, throng the AICC despite an interlocutory injunction that had been sought by one of the accused judges, to stop the public screening of the video whiles the judiciary is investigating those implicated.

Some 22 lower court judges are currently serving a suspension placed on them by the Judicial Council, after they were captured in the said video, allegedly taking bribes to influence judgment.

12 other high court judges have also been implicated and have been queried and are awaiting appropriate sanctions; together with over 80 staff of the judicial service, police, AG’s department and the prisons service, also believed to have played various roles in the bribery scandal.

An obviously saddened John Dumelo after watching the video took to twitter to express his grief.

In a related development, TV Host and lawyer, Sandra Ankobiah also took to her instagram page to express her disappointment.

“I’m extremely heartbroken after watching Anas’ video yesterday, as I’m sure a lot of people are too. At the risk of being prejudicial, let’s all bear in mind the phrase “innocent until proven guilty.” My heart breaks because a perceived corrupt judiciary undermines the rule of law, the stability of the country, and the integrity of our entire legal system. May true justice prevail. God bless our judiciary. God bless the legal profession. God bless Ghana” she concluded.
